Non Toxic HairColor!!! This is very exciting. This hair color is actually something someone can purchase for themselves at www.myhairprint.com. They will send you a box of everything you need to color your own grey hair back to its natural shade, ranging from black to light brown. Im excited since I love non toxic anything. I'm also excited since they are working on developing a "in salon package" for Stylists at Hair Salons to utilize Hairprint and offer the non toxic service on their clients. In anticipation to try this product and see its results first hand, I ordered two kits of the brown Hairprint color restorer and did a color retouch on my client yesterday. In respecting my client's void of social media and a presence online, I did not document the process with photos. I did take a quick snap shot at the ends of the service to show the coverage of grey that Hairprint obtains. As a Hairstylist, I have been known to color my own hair in my bathroom at home, using professional color lines. I try and avoid coloring my own hair, purely because of the mess that does happen in my bathroom and the few times I have permanently colored a cabinet or tile in my home, oops. Hairprint is much more messy that a color you would buy at the store and it's much messier than a professional color applied at home or in the salon. The reason is the consistency. It expands and easy drops off the brush. As it expands it becomes much less likely to drip but I found it to be a bit of a challenge to work quickly, as the instructions gives you a time limit on each application. I couldn't imagine trying to do this on my own hair but I'm sure it can be done with great patience and accuracy. Once I got over the expanding consistency, I realized there was something really pleasant about using the product and how there was no smell or fumes that irritated my senses. It took awhile, and two kits later (since my client was over 50% grey) but in the end, we loved the color. The greatest thing about Hairprint is that it is non toxic, the second greatest thing, was unlike typical hair color, Hairprint did not expose any underlying pigment from my client's hair. So instead of having a hint of red or gold that can become exposed with coloring hair brown, Hairprint left a natural, dimensional, rich and shimmering brown on my client's new growth. I can imagine that once her processed hair was all grown out and all that remains is Hairprint color, her hair will be very unique in its very own way. Below is a snapshot of my clients retouched roots with Hairprint. From the root to about and 1 inch and 1/2 into the mid shaft, you can see an blending of grey that is super shimmery. From there on, you can see the part of the hairshaft I didn't let Hairprint touch as it had been processed with professional hair color lines in the past. Maybe it's my trained eye, but I can see the difference and note that Hairprint is much more dimensional than a typical opaque hair color coverage.
